Editorial: Special issue on Handwriting Biometrics

This volume contains the enhanced versions of the best papers in the field of "Handwriting Biometrics" presented in the International Conference on Frontiers in Handwriting Recognition ICFHR 2012 held in Monopoli, Bari (Italy), September 18–20, 2012. Before publication, each paper has been carefully reviewed by at least two independent experts and only the papers with highest quality have been included in the volume. The papers concern online and offline signature verification and writer identification and focus on some of the most innovative aspects of research. Therefore, the collection of papers in this Special Issue would give a good overview on the most promising state-of-the-art research in the field of "Handwriting Biometrics".
