Abstract :
A screw-type labyrinth seal can produce big seal-power and realizes zero leakage, which can not be substituted by other kinds of seals. In order to realize drainage both in explosive environment and in high-pressure water in flooded mine, a three-stage screw-type labyrinth seal is designed for main drainage motor. Equipment has been manufactured and experiment has been completed partially. It has been proven that this kind of seal can seal high-pressure water in mine, which is very significant for preventing deep mine more than 550 meters from being flooded.
