Abstract
The configuration of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) system of one dual-redundancy PMSM and two inverters is presented in this paper. The angular difference problem is studied because the two motors are connected to the same shaft with a different alignment, and the importance of compensating the angular difference is presented. In addition, this paper offers a method to measure the angular difference. Both the computer simulation and experimental results show that the angle difference compensation is required in either case. Compensating the angle difference can reduce the disadvantageous influences on the dynamic and static performance, and decrease the loss of the dual-redundancy system.
