Abstract
This paper considers speed and position estimation of salient permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM) base on extended Kalman Filter (EKF), presents the modeling and analysis validation of a robust sensorless control method. The paper shows using an EKF instead of sensors of the mechanical quantities and aims the application in the field-oriented control (FOC) structure of the high-dynamic drive. By observing the performance of different types of covariance matrixes and robustness to motor parameters changes, it is possible to know that the sensorless control system by using EKF algorithm, monitoring stator voltages and current, is validity. The simulation results show that this method is efficient.
