Abstract
This paper presents a method to reduce the cogging torque of PM BLDC with concentrated windings by combining teeth notching and rotor magnets skewing. For motors with concentrated windings, the method of reducing cogging torque by skewing rotor magnets is not quite available because of the large slot pitch. Then the method of teeth notching is also introduced in. The number of notches that should be added on each tooth is demonstrated in this paper. In order to get a better result, the dimensions of the notches are also taken into consideration. At last, a numerical solution solved with magnet 3d is presented to verify the validity of this method.
