  • Abstract
    Loaded switches are frequent for the running electric locomotive. The frequencies, phases and amplitudes between the system voltage and residual voltage may be different when the transformer is put into use. The transient responses at different time points are thus analyzed to determine the optimal time to switch on the locomotive transformer and prevent the damage to the system.
