Abstract :
In this paper, FE based circuit model is incorporated into systematic state space model to investigate the transformer inner behavior and characteristics of a saturated transformer type solid state fault current limiter (SSFCL). With novel design strategy for the proposed transformer, the FCL has small volume, low cost, and limits the short-circuit current substantially.
