Abstract
In this paper, we introduce a new method of terrain slope estimation in the azimuth direction and the ground range direction using only one pass POLSAR data. This method is derived from the polarimetric SAR data compensation for terrain azimuth slopes variation [1] and the Lambertian backscattering model used in the radarclinometry [2]. The AIRSAR L-band POLSAR data are used to show the preliminary results of this method. The comparison of the proposed method and the digital elevation model (DEM) are given to show the effectiveness. The preconditions and limitation of this method are also discussed in this paper.
