Abstract
In this paper, a high-performance profiling algorithm with the combination of ESPRIT and SVA (Spatially Invariant Apodization) was proposed. In the algorithm, SVA is firstly used to reduce the sidelobes of compressed pulses, because they could mask the weak signals reflected from subsequent subsurfaces, and ESPRIT is then used to get super-resolution profiling. Detailed simulations for one four-layer geometry with comparison of the results obtained by FFT plus ESPRIT and by SVA plus ESPRIT were presented to show the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.
