Abstract
Building design and development has legal requirements for EMC. The equipment compliance with harmonised EMC standards is a minimum requirement for high standards of reliability and safety. Building design needs to consider the impact of the external and internally generated electromagnetic environments so that cost effective measures can be incorporated. The specific requirements such as radar protection of glazed areas require specific solutions. There are many standards and guides available for good engineering practice.
