Abstract
RFID brings in security and privacy-hidden trouble because of its wireless communication mode and no demand for visibility. Many proposals to solve the problem are not available in most current low cost RFID tags. We proposed a new mutual authentication to ensure privacy. The approach only uses simple XOR operation and CRC operation to ensure a mutual authentication between tags and readers. The main idea to ensure privacy is to change the password each time and not to store user data in the tag itself. Analysis shows that this approach efficiently prevents unauthorized reading, location track and replay attack and is low-cost, high efficiency.
