A power control MAC protocol for MANET

MANET is a new communication network emerging in recent years. The MAC protocols have great influence on performance of MANET. In this article, a power control MAC protocol called CDTC/PC is introduced. CDTC/PC protocol sets two code division channels-control channel and data channel, uses three state indicators to controls transmission and reception of nodes, and uses close loop power control to send packets. Simulation results show that using CDTC/PC in MANET the channel utilization increases significantly and the energy of terminals can be saved effectively.
