Abstract
A novel scheme for return link of passive RFID system is proposed. In this scheme, coded OOK and coded BPSK are adopted. The cutoff rate is used to study the influence of encoding on system performances. Analysis results show that the proposed coded modulation scheme is energy efficient in return link and the system performances are improved with almost no increase in chip complexity. The benefits of encoding on system information rates and communication range at different cutoff rates are analyzed and evaluated.
