Abstract
This paper describes the application of digital PI and PID control algorithms with incremental outputs to HVAC processes using conventional pneumatic actuators. Particular attention is paid to the proper selection of the components for the digital/pneumatic interface. A discussion of hysteresis correction, error deadhand, sampling rates and tuning techniques is included.
