Abstract
An adaptive delay element has been shown to perform well when tracking the delay between two narrowband signals when the SNR is constant. This paper considers a configuration where both the SNR and the delay between the two signals are varying. To handle this additional change in the system, an adaptive gain is added to the adaptive delay. An LMS algorithm is developed for adjusting the real-time estimate of the gain. Computer simulations are included to evaluate the performance of the adaptive delay/gain element.
