Abstract
A generalized beam element is used to modify system modal parameters obtained from either finite element analysis or experimental modal analysis using the local eigenvalue modification procedure. The generalized beam and local eigenvalue modification procedure are applied to modal data bases obtained from either an experimental modal survey of a structure or a finite element analysis of the equivalent structure.
