Abstract
Recent results are covered on the extension of the Internal Model Principle of control theory for linear time-invariant regulators to the smooth non-linear regulation and tracking problem, in particular for the case of step reference and disturbance signals. The exposition is geometric in style and highlights the role played by internal models.
