  • Abstract
The utility of some advanced process control strategies have been experimentally demonstrated in control of the transverse thickness in an extruded polymer web. Specifically, experimental results are presented that demonstrate the advantages of (1) a cascade control strategy and (2) a model regerence adaptive control algorithm over conventional, industrially-prevalent strategies.
