Abstract :
This paper presents a process control modelling and reasoning language (PCMR) which allows a precise formulation for describing control processes. PCMR performs qualitative, temporal, and causal reasoning based on the characteristics of control processes in technical systems. A survey of the PCMR language structure is given, as well as its syntax and semantics. Examples of applications in manufacturing cell control are discussed.
