  • Abstract
    A continuous chemical reactor modelled by a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations is controlled by means of a discrete multivariable optimal control law. The control structure incorporates a set of amplifiers and integrators to obtain a zero steady state output error. The proposed scheme assumes the process state vector is observable, so a state estimation algorithm for nonlinear system is designed and implemented on the simulated process. Numerical simulations are carried out, with the overall control scheme, to illustrate the methodology.
