Abstract
A numerical singularity analysis technique for the classification of the different static bifurcation behaviors of a nonlinear system is presented. The utility of such an analysis method is demonstrated through an application to a feedback-controlled tubular chemical reactor. The results include an illustration of the increase in complexity of the multiplicity patterns introduced by the feedback controller and a definition of the region in parameter space where the stabilized state is globally unique.
