Abstract
The potential of the Inmos transputer architecture for the implementation of parallelism in real-time control is investigated. Two applications are described: one based on static task allocation, the other using dynamic task allocation. Following an assessment of these implementations, a new architecture, PACE, with potential benefits for real-time control, is also described.
