Abstract :
The Versatile Sliding Control (VSC) was applied to an actuator in disk files to provide a fast, accurate, and robust control. The control system was designed to be insensitive to the system uncertainties which include modeling errors and unmodeled dynamics. The modeling errors due to system parameter deviations were completely compensated. The effects of the unmodeled dynamics to the system accuracy were controlled and reduced.
