Abstract
This paper investigates the feasibility of designing an Idle Speed Controller that would be robust with respect to large variations in engine operating conditions. This was done by applying a μ-synthesis robust control design technique to the previously experimentally identified 2.9L Scorpio engine model. The simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the investigated robust control.
