  • Abstract
This paper presents a novel signal detection method using multi-level threshold values for initial time synchronization in ultra wide-band (UWB) systems adapting multi-band OFDM (MB-OFDM) techniques. In the proposed method employing a cross-correlation technique, the performance of initial signal detection can be improved by using multi-level threshold values without increasing the hardware complexity significantly compared to a conventional cross-correlation scheme. Experimental results show that the proposed method performs better performance than conventional schemes.
