Abstract
Parallel computing has been applied extensively in many areas nowadays. COW (cluster of workstations) based on MPICH in Linux OS (operating system) is a cheap and efficient approach for implementing parallel computing. In this paper, a COW based on MPICH is constructed under the environment of Linux; the detailed process for software configuration is also discussed. Finally, a matrix multiplication parallel algorithm is executed to test the COW and the test result shows that the COW works stably and normally.
