Abstract
This paper presents calculations of antenna noise temperature for a Kathrein base station antenna as a function of downtilt angle. The influence on receiver sensitivity is discussed. Using modified WCDMA capacity equations, the impact of reduced antenna noise on UL capacity is calculated, and results for the optimum antenna downtilt are shown.
