  • Abstract
    According to the equivalent relation of Cartesian and polar coordinate system and the expression of current vector field in Cartesian coordinate system, a new GIS expression method of current vector field is presented in this paper. Taking in situ current field data as study object, the paper analyzes the structure of current field using the new expression method and the results prove that the new expression is feasible. Furthermore, the structure of current field in GIS is analyzed after inputting these data into GIS, and the results also prove the new expression is feasible. The applications of the new expression method change the fact that characters of current field can not be obtained using u, v components in GIS, and realizes to obtain characters of current field by single component in GIS.
