Abstract
Most of pressure, flow and level measurements on refineries are done on dangerous fluids at high pressure and temperature. All these measurements are not reliable due to the process conditions which create the need of tracing and induce maintenance because of the instability of impulse lines and reference legs. Remote seals are used as interface between process connections and transmitters. This paper describes from End User perspective how the use of pressure transmitters equipped with remote seals can improve the safety and the reliability of the plant. Remote seals allow also an easy installation for the pressure, flow, level or interface measurement, improve the accuracy with less maintenance work on site and help to meet environmental issues.
