  • Abstract
Channel assignment algorithm has a direct impact on the performance of multi-channel wireless network. The wireless networkpsilas heterogeneous characteristic makes its channel assignment algorithm more complex. To address this issue, this paper gives a solution. By sharing neighbor nodespsila interface-channel information and channel usage frequency statistics, an integrated channel selection metric-CGSBM (Channel Gain and Statistic Based Metric) was designed. Then a heterogeneous channel assignment algorithm was designed based on CGSBM. The algorithm can help nodes having a global view when they are allocating channels and therefore it can take full advantage of the network resources and minimize the transmission interfere, eventually improve the aggregated network throughput. Finally, the simulation studies prove the algorithm´s effectiveness in network throughput improvement.
