Abstract
Real-time monitoring for mine is a special application of wireless sense network. A improved protocol is presented especially with respect to power consumption compared with mobile adhoc network. Considering making full use of existing resources e.g. routing table, packet format, three ideas, including reversing routing, dynamic sink node, special route request and repeat, are adopted. From analyzing the simulation result by OPNET, the improved protocol reduces the consumption of energy significantly and prolongs the lifetime of nodes efficiently. Open issues and resent research of sensor network are also discussed.
