Abstract :
In this paper, a new method for interference mitigation with coexisting spectrum users for ultra-wideband (UWB) pulse radio is proposed. This method uses adaptive frequency spectrum estimator to give the estimates of each coexisting spectrum users´ center frequency and frequency band. Based on these estimates, the frequency band of UWB communication system can be adaptively divided into multi-bands. Combing with Parr´s pulse design method, the final obtained pulse for UWB transmitter can dramatically suppress the mutual interferences between UWB systems and multiple coexisting spectrum users in mobile communication environment. This new method successfully solves the coexistence problem between UWB systems and the coexisting spectrum users without the need of reducing UWB pulse power spectral density (PSD) over the whole UWB frequency band. Therefore, the application range of UWB systems can be enlarged by increasing the transmitted UWB pulse power.
