Abstract :
Conventional detection algorithms for co-located antenna MIMO are no longer suitable for distributed transmit antenna multi-input multi-output (DTA-MIMO) systems, due to different antenna configurations. This paper proposes a detector based on widely linear (WL) processing combined with the decision-feedback (DF) strategy for DTA-MIMO systems, where we perform proposed WL-DF detection for the first q substreams, and conventional linear DF (L-DF) detection procedure for the remaining substreams. Simulations confirm that the proposed scheme provides considerable performance gain at the expense of an acceptable computation complexity.
