  • Abstract
Evaluation of urban human settlements is a key part of the science of human settlements. Based on the principle of environmental friendliness, evaluation index system of urban human settlement has been established so as to supply city for reference in harmonious development and better-living construction. The model of fuzzy matter element can be used in evaluating the good or bad of urban human settlements. Taking 30 provincial capital cities as an example, the result shows that it is fairly consistent in regard to habitual perceptual cognitions. So the evaluation of urban human settlements will also be helpful to determine function and direction of a city.
