Abstract
In this paper, the notion of multiresolution analysis for bivariate function space is introduced. The concept of nonseparable biorthogonal bivariate wavelet packets is proposed, which is a generalization of uni-wavelet packets. A procedure for constructing them is presented by using separable variable method. Next, the biorthogonality property of biorthogonal bivariate wavelet packets is characterized and biorthogonality formulas regarding the wavelet packets are obtained.
