Abstract
Snapshot is usually applied in p2p network topology analysis. In this paper, we develop the topology crawler software to probe the PPLive application. Based on the measured trace, we characterize the PPLive topology with metrics including degree distribution, clustering coefficient, network diameter, characteristic path length, connectivity matrix and reciprocity coefficient. In additional, we also use visualization methods (BOSAM and pajek) to analyzing the network. We compare the characteristics of PPLive with that of Gnutella, UUSee, and ER random network.
