Abstract
Computer science at independent colleges is a popular subject and attracts many students at different levels. This brings teaching difficulties and challenges the traditional teaching methods. This paper describes a variety of experiences in computer teaching at independent colleges. They include different levels of constructing curricula, teaching plan and practicing projects based on the characteristics of computer science. Students of various abilities have shown obviously progress in studying knowledge, programming and project practice.
