Abstract
This paper describes the design process of a solid state based high voltage klystron anode modulator. Three different solutions for the driver topology are discussed and a choice is made and justified. The power stage is composed of a MOSFET stack and a passive drain to source voltage sharing regulation system. The design process is briefly described and numerical results show the feasibility. Experimental measurements on a preliminary 5 kV stack prototype are presented and discussed.
