  • Abstract
In order to handle the large volume of events in large-scale distributed systems such as supply chain management systems, composite event detection is recently used as an effective means to identify the occurrence of complex patterns of events, which is an attractive but also a challenging task. This paper introduces a composite event processing framework and its models, and then describes an intelligent detecting method for composite events based on automata with a regular structure and with the support for a rich time model and parameterization. In implementation, it designs a description language for automata in composite event processing, which is derived from using JavaCC. The results of the experiment show this method is an effective and efficient event-oriented approach to composite event detecting and it can be practically used in the intelligent processing for distributed complex events by devising specific application logics into complex events.
