Abstract :
Spray cooling is a well known, environmentally benign technology that can be employed for producing a comfortable condition in outdoor environment. It introduces the processes of heat and mass transfer, where air and water are the working fluid. The water droplets evaporate in the air stream to reduce the air temperature. A kind of spray cooling system of two phases flow by low pressure atomization was developed in this paper. The system possesses the advantage of additional heat removal that is thought to be due to the high latent heat of water droplets and the evaporation cooling in surroundings. The experimental studies of evaporative cooling of fine water mist in outdoor environment were presented. Cooling up to 6.7°C was attainable in the measurement of temperature. The numerical simulation of influence of natural wind on temperature and relative humidity distribution was proposed.
