Abstract :
Range false target deception jamming is a common electronic countermeasure (ECM) technique used for ballistic missile penetration. The specially designed decoys can even form stable tracks, making discrimination quite difficult. This paper proposes a novel method, called conservation-law based discrimination algorithm(CLDA), can discriminate these decoys at the radar data processing level. Firstly, explicit expression of motion model of decoys in the radar East-North-Up coordinate system (ENU-CS) is derived. Utilizing this model, it is proved that the decoys neither follow the conservation law of mechanical energy (CLME) nor follow the conservation law of moment of momentum (CLMM). Secondly, By employing the extended Kalman filter (EKF), the instantaneous estimates of the moment of momentum and mechanical energy are obtained and the discrimination threshold is designed. Finally, the feasibility and validity of the proposed algorithm is verified by experimental results.
