Abstract :
With the development of mobile communication, there arises the requirement of ubiquitous access to Internet Email service from small screen terminals such as mobile phones and Pads. This paper proposed a framework, MMSEmail, for delivering Emails to mobile phones through Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS). MMSEmail integrates the functions of Email proxy, content adaptation broker and MMS sender. It not only implements immediate Email delivery by utilizing PUSH mechanism of MMS, but also supports user profile-based content adaptation, spam email filtering and text presentation of Email attachments with special file types as .doc, .rtf and .pdf. Being designed based on the de-facto standards, the framework has great extensibility.
