Abstract
Most 3D models of architectural process simulation system are always designed in traditional method, which will have problems in reusability and interoperability because of its strong individuality. In this paper, the design of architectural models using the concept of the standard components in mechanical component design for reference, classifying the whole model into standard parts such as column, wall, beam, plate, etc., applying VB.NET for the second development based on SolidWorks and parameterized feature modeling theory, selection and traversal technique, combining program driving with dimension driving technology to create models of architectural components dynamically, realize parameterized architectural models. Finally, integrate the second development application program into SolidWorks seamlessly by the way of add-in, to achieve an embedded design system. Then applying the automatic assemble technique, architectural components can be assembly to single layer model then to high-rise architectural model. The application examples in this paper verified that this model design system can reduce the design time, so as to improve the efficiency, shorten the production cycle, and improve products´ competition, cost-effectiveness.
