Abstract
The present study focused on storm top observations utilizing the Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) data. The Spinning Enhanced Visible and Infrared Imager (SEVIRI) instrument aboard MSG provides image data with high spatial resolution (approximately 3 km) and high temporal resolution (15 minutes). This study used the thunderstorm event of 5 November 2007 over the C¿ameli town in Western Turkey to provide an analysis of the enhanced-V satellite signature using MSG data. This signature was an important indicator of severe weather which can be used during weather warning operations to augment radar information.
