  • Abstract
Aircraft design and assembly is a global phenomena. Today, sub systems can be designed, manufactured or tested in any country, only being shipped to the final assembly plant on demand. This global process requires that comparable tests shall produce identical results no matter where in the world they are performed. Standardisation of test methods and equipment go a long way to achieving these objectives. For civilian aircraft DO160 is ideally suited to fulfil the standardisation role and is used as the basis for airworthiness certification.
