Abstract
AR grade Li2CO3 and MnCO3 have been mixed in the mole ratios 0.5 : 1 (sample 1) and 0.7 : 1 (sample 2) and synthesized at 800°C for four hours. On the basis of XRD analysis, the former is determined as a single phase spinel and the later shows the presence of Li2MnO3. The cation distribution is different for the two samples. The electrical conductivity and dipolar relaxation are larger for the later sample. It has been concluded that the cation distribution as well as presence of additional phase is responsible for the changes in the properties.
