Abstract
OBS (Optical Burst Switch) network is a promising network. In our study, a new Adaptive Proportional Distribution Scheme is adopted as the route algorithm of OBS network, to improve the network performance. It splits traffic from the source node among the several candidate paths with special proportion to finish transmission. And GMPLS protocol is used herein to set up the paths. The main idea of the scheme is how to distribute proportion and how to select candidate paths. Compared with the conventional shortest path first scheme, the new one can reduce burst loss rate and balance link load of the network, which is proved by simulation on NS-2 platform.
