  • Abstract
In the 21st century, product design becomes more rapid, modular and knowledge-based. Oriented to these characteristics, design guide management system is established based on Workflow Management System in this paper, and it provides enterprises with an effective method for knowledge accumulation and reuse in design processes. With analysis on features in design processes and design tasks, the model of guide system is constructed, which can build various types of standardized design processes. Then, take diesel engine design as an example, a guide for thermodynamic performance simulation of four-stroke diesel engine is built, and correlative manuals, standards, examples are embedded into design processes. It is verified that this method is feasible, and it can improve efficiency of product design and computation significantly.
