  • Abstract
In order to study the influence of different gradation on asphalt macadam performance, three mixture gradations were utilized, and the low temperature anti-cracking performance, high temperature stability and water stability of the asphalt macadam mixture were studied. Through bending beam test, freeze-thaw split test and wheel track rutting test, the indexes of the mixtures were contrasted. The test result reveals that gradation has a rather remarkable influence on asphalt macadam performance, and when the 4# and 6# gradation are utilized, with rational coarse aggregate content and fine aggregate content, a favorable framework structure of the asphalt macadam mixture can be formed at the optimal asphalt content, which will result in excellent mixture performances.
