Abstract :
To solve low efficiency of stator assembly in an electric motor manufacturer, the process of assembly and manufacture of stators was taken as the object of our study and detailed analysis was carried out on the sequence of coil assembly. It was found through operation analysis and 5W1H question-asking method that quite a few problems exist, such as out-of-balance of hands, unreasonable arrangement of tools and parts, non-standard operation, etc. in the process of operation. Plans for improvement have been proposed and standard methods of operation established by this paper on the four principles of ECRS (Eliminate, Combine, Rearrange and Simplify) and in combination with the principles of motion economy. Standard working hours have been worked out for coil assembly process by way of MOD (Modular Arrangement of Predetermined Time Standard) method on such basis.
